Sarah and I went to Seattle last week for her birthday and had an absolutely lovely time.  Just a few highlights:

We drank our morning coffee at Le Panier and watched the stalls open up at Pike Place Market.  We ate lunch at Matt’s in the Market, where I had the best burger of my life.  The big event was our dinner at Canlis Restaurant.  It was simply the most wonderful meal we’ve ever enjoyed.

Big thanks to Mom for staying with the kids (and to Dad for releasing her to us!), to Matt & Julie Canlis for helping me surprise Sarah, to Brian for the great suggestions for enjoying Seattle, and to Chris & Alice Canlis for helping make our trip a truly delightful one.
