Today is the Feast of the Presentation, remembering the presentation of Jesus in the temple, according to the Law of Moses.
The incident is recorded in Luke 2:22-40. This is the prayer from the Book of Common Prayer:
Almighty and everliving God, we humbly pray that, as your only-begotten Son was this day presented in the temple, so we may be presented to you with pure and clean hearts by Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Andrew
Few parts of the bible are as deeply touching as the prophecy in [Luke 2:25-33]. It’s an amazing story that this old man with a hope, recognize a promise in these stranger’s baby – Israel’s hope and glory.
I sometimes wonder if this wasn’t Yeshuas first convert. What do you think, do the wise men or shepherds count?
